Bradley University - Foster College of Business
The Foster College of Business Administration is proud of its entrepreneurship program at Bradley University. The program includes:
• The Turner Center for Entrepreneurship, an endowed center that includes the Small Business Development Center, the International Trade Center, and other outreach services.
• The Turner Chair of Entrepreneurship, plus a funded assistant professor of entrepreneurship position underwritten by Robert Turner of Turner Investment Partners.
• A complete major in entrepreneurship that includes courses such as Entrepreneurship, Small Business Management, Entrepreneurial Finance, Technology Entrepreneurship, Franchising, The Entrepreneurial Experience I and II, and an optional entrepreneurship internship. Courses recently added include Social Entrepreneurship and Entrepreneurship for Non‐business Majors. Approximately 75 students are enrolled in the major.
• The Springboard Business Plan Competition, an undergraduate competition that includes prizes of $15,000, $10,000, and $5,000; plus free office space, marketing and other assistance, and the use of a car for one year if the winning team locates in Peoria. The Springboard competition is underwritten by Junction Ventures LLC in Peoria Heights, Illinois.
• The Gorman Entrepreneurship Education Fund, providing educational opportunities for entrepreneurship students that include entrepreneurship magazines, business plan software, popular entrepreneurship books, speakers, and trips to the national Collegiate Entrepreneurs’ Organization conference.
• The Journal of Small Business Strategy, co‐sponsored with the Small Business Institute® since 2004.
• Cooperation with the College of Engineering to develop an Engineering Entrepreneurship concentration.
Bradley University also operates a newly opened technology incubator known as the Peoria NEXT Innovation Center.
